WhatsApp Business API pricing in Oman
Meta charges for WhatsApp API messages by the country of the number that receives them. On 1 October 2026 Oman leaves the Rest of Middle East price group and gets its own rates, and two kinds of message that were free start to cost money. Here are the Omani rates before and after that date, taken from Meta’s own rate cards and converted to rials.
The Oman rates
Rates are per delivered message to a +968 number. The rial figure is for 1,000 messages, because a single message costs only a few baisa. We converted at the Central Bank of Oman peg of USD 2.6008 per rial.
| Category | Until 30 Sep 2026 (Rest of Middle East) | From 1 Oct 2026 (Oman) |
|---|---|---|
| Marketing | USD 0.0341 OMR 13.111 per 1,000 | USD 0.0341 OMR 13.111 per 1,000 |
| Utility | USD 0.0091 OMR 3.499 per 1,000 Free inside an open service window | USD 0.0247 OMR 9.497 per 1,000 Charged inside the window too |
| Authentication | USD 0.0091 OMR 3.499 per 1,000 | USD 0.0247 OMR 9.497 per 1,000 |
| Authentication-international | No separate rate | USD 0.06 OMR 23.070 per 1,000 |
| Service | Free | USD 0.0247 OMR 9.497 per 1,000 After 1,000 free per number each month |
These are Meta’s list rates. For utility and authentication messages Meta also publishes volume tiers that lower the rate at high volume, and those tiers are counted across your whole business portfolio, not per number. Your provider’s subscription is on top of all of this.
What changes on 1 October 2026
- Utility and authentication rates to Omani numbers rise from USD 0.0091 to USD 0.0247
- Service messages, the replies inside the 24-hour window, stop being free after the first 1,000 a month per number
- Utility templates sent inside an open service window, free since July 2025, are charged
- Oman gets its own authentication-international rate of USD 0.06
The marketing rate to Omani numbers stays at USD 0.0341. The international authentication rate applies to businesses that Meta treats as based outside Oman, under eligibility rules Meta publishes on the same page.
Three worked budgets, from October
Our arithmetic at Meta’s list rates, before any volume tier and before your provider’s fee.
A clinic that sends 2,000 appointment reminders a month
Reminders are utility templates. 2,000 x USD 0.0247 = USD 49.40, about OMR 18.994 a month.
A shop that sends one 5,000-person promotion
Promotions are marketing templates. 5,000 x USD 0.0341 = USD 170.50, about OMR 65.557 for that one send.
A support desk that sends 3,000 replies a month on one number
The first 1,000 service messages are free. The other 2,000 x USD 0.0247 = USD 49.40, about OMR 18.994 a month. Until 30 September 2026 the same month cost nothing in Meta fees.
Where Dardasha fits
Dardasha does not use the official API. It links to your WhatsApp number the way WhatsApp Web does, so none of the Meta charges above apply to it. You pay OMR 4.900 or OMR 14.900 a year. The trade is real: no green tick, no approved templates for people who have not written to you, and sending limits that protect the number. If a desk mostly answers customers who write first, the October change makes that trade worth a fresh look.

Frequently asked questions
Are replies to customers free on the WhatsApp API in Oman?
Until 30 September 2026, yes: service messages inside the 24-hour window are free. From 1 October 2026, each business number gets 1,000 free service messages a month, and after that Meta charges USD 0.0247 per message to an Omani number.
My business is in Oman. Which rate applies to a customer in the UAE?
The recipient's rate. Meta charges by the country calling code of the number that receives the message, not by where your business is. A message to a +971 number is charged at the UAE rate.
Why are the rial figures not on Meta's rate card?
Meta publishes rate cards in a list of currencies, and the rial is not one of them. We convert Meta's US dollar rates at the Central Bank of Oman peg of USD 2.6008 per rial. Your provider may bill in dollars and your bank may add a card fee, so your statement can differ slightly.
