WhatsApp for schools and parent communication

A school runs on messages to parents: absence follow-ups, bus delays, fee reminders, exam dates, trip forms. In many schools these go out from a teacher's personal phone. The school keeps no record, the parent does not know which number is official, and the teacher has no evening. Dardasha moves that traffic onto one number the school owns.

What the setup looks like

One school number, several offices

Reception, the bus coordinator and the accounts office answer the same number, each from their own login in a browser. A parent writes to the school, not to a person who may leave at the end of the year.

Lists by grade, class and bus route

Tag parent contacts with grade, section and bus route so staff can filter them. For a notice, import the list for that group as a CSV into a campaign. The Grade 7 trip note then goes to Grade 7 parents only, and a delay on one route goes to that route only.

Standard answers for term-time questions

Auto-reply rules on words such as fees, uniform, timetable, رسوم and الزي answer with the current details in Arabic and English. Update the rule once per term instead of typing the same answer a hundred times.

A library for the weekly notices

Absence follow-ups, fee reminders and meeting invitations go into the saved template library, so every staff member sends the same approved wording. Our free template pages are a starting point.

Reminders from the school system

If the student or finance system can make an HTTPS request, it can send a fee reminder or an absence alert itself through the API, at the moment the record changes, without anyone copying numbers into a phone.

The record stays with the school

Every thread is stored against the school workspace. When a staff member leaves, the parent conversations and their history stay where they belong.

Before you start

A first-week setup

Day one: link the school number by scanning a QR code and invite the office staff. Day two: import parent contacts from a CSV and tag them by grade. Day three: write auto-replies for the five questions reception answers most. After that, send one small notice to one class and read the replies before you send to a whole grade.

Pick the right plan

Premium includes 100 contacts, and a single year group can pass that. A school needs Platinum, OMR 14.900 a year, which includes 10,000 contacts.

It is not an emergency alert system

Campaign messages go out one at a time with a gap of 60 to 120 seconds, and a line sends at most 200 campaign messages a day. A notice to 300 parents takes several hours and may run into a second day. For an urgent school closure, use a channel built for instant mass alerts.

Consent and privacy

Message parents who gave you their number for school contact, and give them a simple way to stop. Keep student details out of group-wide notices.

One honest caveat for this sector as for every other: Dardasha is not the official WhatsApp Business API. If you need to send template messages to people who have not written to you first, or you need the green verified badge, you need an official provider instead. We compare them here.
